Random Acts of Kindness

I gave my students an usual writing assignment.  Practice a random act of kindness and write about it.  Here’s what they came up with:

A twenty year old guy who’s colorful class discussions always conclude with, “You feel me Mrs. Fey? You feel what I’m saying?” tipped the cashier at Taco Bell $5 and told her she was doing a great job.

Another guy bought a friend construction shoes after the guy told him he’d finally gotten a job but could only afford the belt needed for the job but not the shoes.  So this young man bought him the shoes and then put them outside his front door that night.  His friend still has no idea who bought him the shoes.

A young woman in class gave a homeless man food and money after she saw him standing outside a restaurant.

And an older student who helps disabled people find affordable housing and make the proper adjustments to that house helped a client get an AC unit for the summer.

Wow.  Do you feel me?  Do you feel what I’m saying?

I love the circle of life.  We’re all connected.
